An adrenaline filled day as you learn to walk on a glacier at 3,466 metres, surrounded by some of the highest peaks in Europe.

The day includes transport to and from your hotel to the revolutionary Skyway cable car and the return journey on the two legs of this amazing feat of engineering to reach the Eagle’s Nest on Punta Helbronner at 4,600 metres altitude.
After a briefing from the guides and distribution/fitting of equipment, you will have a 3 hour discovery tour including an opportunity to picnic on the glacier, along with the classic sciabolata (opening of the local Méthode Champenoise Cuvée des Guides bottle with an ice axe rather than a sabre wielded by the guide) and a taste of this unique sparkling wine.
Following this, a chance for a warm drink back at the Eagle’s Nest and a visit to the priceless crystal room, boasting an amazing collection of different crystals found on the Mont Blanc mountain range over the centuries. The descent includes a stop at the mid station of Pavillon to visit the Skyway shop.

EXAMPLE ITINERARY: MONT FORTIN & LEX BLANCHE
Starting altitude: 3,200m
Difference in altitude: 1,200m
Difficulty: average
Return: helicopter
Aiguille Lex Blanche is a classic descent on the southern side of Val Veny, under Mont Blanc. The helicopter lands in a gorgeous amphitheatre, from which other downhills also start (Trelatete, Aigle), which then merge in the final part. It is of average difficulty and can be ideal for a maiden heliskiing experience or as the first of an expected two or three rotations during the day. The snow conditions are naturally variable.
It starts with a very scenic stretch on the glacier, then offers a slightly steeper slope in the central part. The last stretch leads directly to Lake Combal; the left part of the plateau, where there are small trees and boulders, offers better stability.
The panorama is outstanding, especially at the summit where you can enjoy the silence and the view of the whole Valle d’Aosta.
